Frequently Asked Questions

Hire Terms

The cost of our units/parking bays vary depending on location and on any deals we may have on – please check the location pages for the current prices.

Occasionally we offer deals and discounts – check back on the website every now and then for the latest offers.

Our standard minimum term is 4 weeks. After this we operate on a 7 day notice period.

There is a £50 security deposit for the lock and key when you hire a unit. This is refunded to you at the end of the rental period.

There is no deposit for parking bay hire.

Payment is via debit or credit card – we enter your details into our secure system and a payment is automatically taken at the start of each hire period (normally every 4 weeks). This continues until you give notice on your unit/bay.

As standard payment via debit or credit card is due every 4 weeks in advance.

To keep costs down and our prices low we don’t man the sites all day everyday so this can make it difficult to provide this service. All of our units are dry, watertight and cleaned prior to any new customer taking one on and you’re more than welcome to visit any site and see the lay of the land through the gate/fencing. If your visit coincides with a site manger being there then of course we can show you the inside of a unit too.

Yes, all our prices are inclusive of VAT.

Sure! Give us a call on 01834 850 058 and we can sort this for you. We require the first 4 weeks rental paid upfront as a non-refundable deposit to hold a bay/unit for you.

Give us a call on 01834 850 058 and we will arrange for you to meet one of our team members on site to complete paperwork and get you into your unit/bay.

Container Info

The majority of our units are 20 ft long, by 8 ft wide by about 8 ft height. That's 160 sqft of storage space.

Equivalent in volume to around 2 Luton vans and large enough for the contents of a 2 - 3 bed house.

Electricity is and lighting provided free of charge within units at some of our locations. In these cases electric is switched on via a timer switch and cannot be used when you are not present at the unit.

Yes the containers are fully water tight.

Being water tight means no external water will penetrate into the units – but that also means moisture can find it difficult to escape the containers as well.

So it is important that users do not stow wet or damp items as this can lead to the build-up of condensation– especially during cold winter snaps.

To counter this:

  • At some sites units have a special insulating material on their ceilings which helps prevent condensations (see locations for more info).
  • Moisture absorbing desiccant sticks are also a great affordable way to help dry out your unit. We have them available to buy.
  • We advise customers to air out their units on sunny days at least once every couple of months.
  • At some locations we provide state of the art air purifying and cleaning dehumidifier machines. Available to hire at an additional cost.

For a more affordable option and where power is not available we also have moisture absorbing desiccant sticks for sale. These do a great job at preventing condensation build up, but won’t dry out your goods to the extent of the dehumidifiers

Our units on ceratain sites have their ceilings fitted with our special insulated coating. This coating is proven to prevent condensation build up and subsequently prevents drips - keeping your belongs dry.

This coating also has thermal properties that helps insulate and prevent rapid heat rises or loss through the roof of the unit

Using a Container

All of our sites are covered by public liability insurance but, as the value of the items everyone keeps in the their units differs, we cannot provide insurance for the contents of your container  (or for vehicles stored in our parking bays).

Often your items may already be insured under your home insurance – we advise checking your policy. If not there are a number of specialist insurers who deal with storage cover for containers or vehicles.

No, to keep costs down and our prices low we don’t man the sites all day every day.

However our CCTV system is actively monitored off site 24 hours a day.

Other than prohibited items (listed below)  you can store anything you like that fits in the unit.

You cannot store any items that are corrosive, hazardous, explosive, inflammable, combustible, toxic, dangerous, odour-emitting, illegal. Nor any livestock or perishable goods.

If you do lose your key (it happens to the best of us) we will replace it at cost.

If you require a replacement key urgently though, an emergency call out fee may also be charged.

Whenever it suits you!

All our sites are accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If it fits then sure. However fuel in cans/containers may not be stored. Also please bear in mind you must leave your unit in the same clean condition in which you took it on – you will be charged for the cleaning of any oil stains on the floor etc!

Yes by all means – it’s your space – treat it as a garage, stock room, material store as you see fit.

Using a Parking Bay

Yes.

All of our sites are covered by public liability insurance but, as the value and type of customers vehicles all differ, we cannot provide insurance for the vehicle you store with us (or for contents of items stored in our containers).

Often your items may already be insured under your home insurance – we advise checking your policy. If not there are a number of specialist insurers who deal with storage cover for containers or vehicles.

The majority of bays are 9ft by 25ft but this can vary depending on location within a site. Rest assured – we will do our utmost to ensure you have enough space for you needs.

When you sign up you will be allocated a parking bay – this is yours to use as and when you need it.

Park within the lines of your bay and try and provide equal space on both sides. Do not infringe onto your neighbours bay under any circumstance.

If someone has parked in your space or your neighbour has infringed into your bay please let us know immediately and we will get it sorted for you.

If you are resultantly not able to park fully in your bay then please use one of the temporary bays provided on site. Do not park in your bay and squeeze up your other neighbour – we want to prevent a knock on effect.

Whenever it suits you!

All our sites are accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

So don't worry if its gone 1AM when you come back from your hols - you can still drop off your van at site.

Not at the moment, although this is something we are looking into.
